Account Based Pension - Changes by the Federal government and how this will affect you!

From the 1st of January 2015 Centrelink rules are changing regarding the assessment of Account Based Pensions.

Any new pension accounts setup after this date will be assessed by Centrelink under their normal deeming rules which is in line with all other financial assets.

This will be a major change to the treatment of Account Based Pensions and will impact on people who are of age pension age at the 1st of Jan 2015 and have a superannuation pension and are either currently receiving or looking to apply for Centrelink Age Pension benefits.
